State Inception Workshop, Green-Ag project, Odisha

A three days State Inception Workshop was held from 26th to 28th October in Odisha to orient State and District government officials on Green-Ag project. The workshop was flagged by Hon’ble Minister, Agriculture & FE, Fisheries & ARD and Higher Education, Odisha in presence of 62 participants from key departments/organisations (Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Watershed, Horticulture, Biodiversity Board, Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) University Research Institutions, SPMU and GLIU team) participated in the workshop, along with representatives from NPMU/FAO.
The Green-Ag project overall objective is to catalyse transformative change for India’s agricultural sector to support achievement of National and Global environmental benefits and conserve critical biodiversity and forest landscapes.
During the three days of the workshop, participants were given an overview of the project and its implementation architecture, followed by detailed presentations on technical concepts such as Project overview including implementation Architecture, Landscape and Collaborative Planning, Landscape Assessment, Livestock Management, Sustainable Agriculture, Policy Dialogues, Natural Resource Management, Gender Mainstreaming, Stakeholder analysis, Communication strategy, Community engagement strategy, Result Framework, MIS and Online Accounting, Capacity Enhancement, Procurement Plan, Monitoring and record Management.
Various themes discussed in three day workshop includes valuable messages from Hon’ble Minister, Agriculture & FE, Fisheries & ARD and Higher Education, Odisha, Sri Prashant Ku Swain, Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, MoA&FW, GoI, Sri Tomio Shichiri, FAO Representative in India, Dr. Konda Chavva Reddy, Asst FAO Representative in India, Sri Suresh Ku Vashisth, IAS, Commissioner Cum Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Odisha, Shri R B Sinha, Senior Policy advisor & National Project Director, NPMU, Director, Soil Conservation and Watershed Development Cum Nodal Officer Green-Ag project, Odisha.
The Inaugural Session concluded with vote of thanks to Chief Guest and Other Dignitaries by Sri Madhusudan Mishra, Chief Director, IMAGE, Odisha.
