18 Jan 2022 The fourth meeting of the National Project Monitoring Committee (NPMC) was held virtually on 18 January 2022, under the Chairmanship of Shri Samuel Praveen Kumar, Joint Secretary (RFS), Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare (DA&FW), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of India, to discuss the project progress, Risk Mitigation Strategy and Annual Work Plan Budget for the second year (April 2021-March 2022). Dr. Konda Chavva, Officer-In-Charge, FAO Representation in India welcomed the Joint Secretary (RFS), and all NPMC members including the Operational Partners (OPs) in all the five implementing states — Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Additionally, Dr. Chavva, provided a brief overview of the project. As requested by the chair, Project Director, Mr. Rakesh B Sinha, presented a compliance report on the action points of the third NPMC meeting held on 17 June 2021. The Project Director also gave a detailed presentation on the project status. This was followed by brief updates from the OPs in each of the five states where the project is being implemented. A number of key decisions were taken to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of the project especially in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
