4th Meeting of the Technical Support Group (TSG), Green-Ag project, Odisha

Fourth meeting of the Technical Support Group (TSG) - Green-Ag project, Odisha, India was held under the Chairpersonship of Shri Vineet Bharadwaj, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Mayurbhanj, who is also the Chairperson of the TSG, Green-Ag Project, Odisha. The TSG members and Green-Ag project representatives from Green Landscape Implementation Unit (GLIU) and State Project Management Unit (SPMU) attended the meeting held on March 24, 2023, in the Facilitation Centre of Collectorate, Mayurbhanj, Odisha.
At the outset, the Project Director, Mayurbhanj cum District Project Nodal Officer (DPNO), Green- Ag Project welcomed the participants and briefed about the project and its progress in the landscape.
Team Leader and NRM Expert, GLIU gave agenda wise presentation that included approval of the minutes of the 3rd meeting of TSG and its action taken report, Green Landscape Management Plan (GLMP) and appraisal of draft Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) 2023 – 24.
During the GLMP discussions, Director, Soil Conservation and Watershed Development, Odisha emphasized on promotion of organic farming, promotion of water savings crops instead water loving crops, implementation of different schemes in convergence i.e., Millet Mission, Nutri Garden, farm ponds and other water conservation activities through MGNREGA.
The Chairperson addressed the issues raised by the team related to the support of OREDA for Biogas, and Chief District Agriculture Officer/KVK for crop information. He directed the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) - Revenue to hold regular monthly review meetings, and the Collector also may join depending on his availability.
After detailed deliberations, the TSG approved the minutes of the 3rd meeting of TSG and its action taken report and the Green Landscape Management Plan (GLMP). It also provided the consent on the draft AWPB (2023-24). The Chairperson, Shri Vineet Bharadwaj, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Mayurbhanj, advised all the line departments to give more focus on their relevant schemes in 66 project villages for a visible impact.
